Hey, hey! Cool it laddie. Heirloom's advice was spot on, but maybe only a
Dell computer offers it? There are a row of small buttons at the bottom of
the monitor screen, one of which is a menu screen and after figuring out how
to use it you can find the current refresh rate and even change it if you
want to.

Newsgroup,

Ok, one more time. I need a DOS command to do this. If I
wanted to use the monitor I wouldn't have asked. Perhaps
you may (well, perhaps one of you anyway) have realized that
the refresh rated will be checked by code. So, if you know
of a way to do this, please say so. Else, go do something
else.

Dave,

You can always plonk a user if needed. Fortunately, I have never had to
plonk anyone so far although I have run into a few irritating people. I
hope and pray people can focus on caring, respect, responsibility and
honesty so that there can be less conflict in these Microsoft newsgroups
in the future.

9800 XT video card, tri-boot with 98SE, XP Pro. and Windows Vista
Ultimate 32 bit -- running really well -- two hard drives -- 40+80

my machine -- perhaps too much -- smile

Close to mine, Except the vid is only a 9000 and the audio...well
more professional than using a single processor. Tri boot win ME, 2k
and Net BSD. have been thinking of toying with the SunSparc,
but not yet in my $ range.

Very nice. Will you upgrade your hardware to support Vista's glass
"aero" interface?

I'll upgrade the works except the audio soon, but I don't use the features
of the current UI; to resource hogging, and ultimately boring. Looks nice
though.

I've never had to 'plonk' anyone.....that's one of the nice parts about this
particular NG, it seems to be 'self-leveling.' With very few exceptions,
even those with less than perfect social skills, are treated with respect
and made to feel welcome. It seems to 'rub off', most of the time. I know,
there are those that are beyond redemption....but, thankfully, they are
rare.
This is still the best NG on the net!!!!!!!!!1
