Default Direct 3d problems

Hi

Any help on this one would be appreciated. After
installing DirectX 9c, I am having display problems. I
have a GeForce2 MX 400 card with the most up to date
drivers. The system is a PIII with 256MB ram.

When I run dx diag and Test Direct3d, I get the following
errors:

Direct3D 7 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D
Device): HRESULT = 0x887602eb (error code)
Direct3D 8 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D
Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086a (3D not available)
Direct3D 9 test results: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D
Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086a (3D not available)

This has only happened since upgrading to DirectX 9.0c

Any suggestions?
