Default Operating windows xp Professional /MSN homepage, etc.

Had New Internet High speed recently installed; worked
great over the last two weeks; however today's message
when clicking on Internet Explorer from desk top and
trying to access http://www.msn.com or "any other web
search from favorites etc.".... Therefore cannot actually
access the internet in any fashion. Message Window that
appears states: (Note, I have not cancelled previous MSN
Dial up 9 yet if that makes a difference)..

You have tried to access a page that you are not
authorized to display and were stopped by the SAS
PROXY...bla, bla, bla.

SAS Proxy Restricted Page (I've looked through several
settings but can't quite tell if something is a tad off.

Any suggestions as to "WHAT should be" check marked or
enabled? Thanks a bunch.....

Would appreciate any emails in direct response to above
question

Since this is an XP question, it is better
asked in one of the XP groups on msnews.microsoft.com.

For advice specific to problems with secure sites, have a look at the first
link - for general advice, have a look at the second:

http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers2.htm#secure_sites
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers.htm#dns

I'm betting on an aberrant HOSTS file.
