Error loading NULL.

A friend of ours can no longer open Windows 98. He gets an
error message that says "Error loading NULL." and Windows
won't open. He's tried reloading Windows 98, but it hasn't
helped. I did a Google search and only had one hit that
was for Windows ME posted in April and the poor guy didn't
have any replies. I'm sorry, but I don't have any other
info on this problem. Can anyone help? Thanks!

This Google search gets a few more, mostly without an answer but there
are a couple with replies.
