Default "Error Message" Invalid Disk !

When I turn on my pc it displays invalid disk! But,
there's no disk in the A drive. I looked up some possible
solution. And it tells me that I might have some files
missing from my command.com files. Is this true and how do
I use my start-up disk to reinstall this file.
Thanks
Ed

Is the exact error : Invalid system disk? If so, try booting off your
statup disk (if you don't have one, go to www.bootdisk.com)

Once you boot, run scandisk c: to check the file system on the C drive.
If you are unable to boot using the boot disk, check the BIOS settings or
consult your hardware vendor.

Thanks!
