Default I need to know where to find manuals to my old motherboard

Okay, I wasn't sure where to ask this question, but I'm trying to setup my
old PC again with windows 98 SE on it. But even with a good bois chip and a
good CPU and good RAM I get nothing. I need to find where I can see manuals
on line for my old motherboard.

I do know it can have an AMD K5 Processor but I'm putting it a AMD K6
Processor, which I don't see a voltage selection for it but only for the K5
one.

On the CPU says: 2.4V core/3.3V I/O.

Which I don't know if the bois chip is the right one

The Bois chip out of a Socket 8 motherboard seems not to work in a socket 7
mother board. Bois chip is for a 686 one. So what can my Problem be?

Plus how do you find out the brand name of the mother board?

Unfortunately the picture on the site is gone, but here's where you can find
downloads for what I assume is your FIC PT2006 motherboard:

http://www.wimsbios.com

pause the bootup by pressing the pause key when the bios strin id is showing
on the bottom of the screen.
Usually a millisecond after the ram test.
you can find the rest at wims bios page.
Good Luck

Thankyou Richard, it was the right one, now I just need to solve a few probs
since I get a beep code from my BIOS,

Which what I get so far is CPU overheating, but, CPU not even warm yet.
Voltage and every thing should be set up right.

And jd, thank you for also trying to help but I get nothing on my screen.
I'm trying to get it working again.

Okay, all I get is high Freq. beeps from my BOIS, it's AWARD and a 1998 bois.

You guys know what kind of mother board it is since Richard found it for
me,I was said it only can use CPU speeds up to 233MHs ( ithink)

But this one place:
http://www.romulus2.com/articles/gui...fe/newlife.htm

I already had an AMD procceser, but its not an K6-2/400, mine is K6-2/450,
which thats preety close enough right?

I do have all the CPU settings correct, but I get these beeps and I get
nothing on screen. My CPU does have a heat sink and a fan on it, I do have a
64MB DIM RAM stick in it.

I have no clue what can be wrong, but one this, I should first tell ya......

First, it has 4 SIMM slots and 1 DIM slot, First I had 2 SIMM sticks in that
only gave it 16MB, It had 4 beeps, 1st was long and loud, second was a little
long and loud, 3rd was going a lower Freq. and a bit long, the 4th was lower
freq. and alittle long.

But now since I put the DIM stick and took out the SIMM sticks it now has
long loud beeeeeeeeeeps.

Any one know what I should do?

The way I usually diagnose a problem like this is by removing everything
from the motherboard except the minimum necessary hardware (CPU, memory,
video card) and see if it will boot. If not, these items plus the power
supply need to be tested by substituting known-good items for them one at a
time. If the system does boot up, then re-add items one at a time until the
system won't start up and go from there.
