Default Problem when booting up

When I boot up my computer I get a message "The computer
has performed an illegal operation etc." and I can't get
on the internet. What should I do?

Please post the *exact* error message(s) and what was going on when it/they
appeared. If there is a details button, click it and post that message
verbatim--the registers are not required.
