Default HP 656c reinstall drivers message

After many months of no printing problems, I received the
message "A required HP file is missing or corrupted.
Reinstall HP driver software".

After receiving the error message, I follow the
procedures, exactly, to uninstall and reinstall the
drivers. The printer, then works fine until I restart the
system. I then get the message again. I have tried
everthing I can think of including a complete scan disk. I
even replaced the disk drive with a new one. I completely
uninstalled my anti-virus software. I must have tried this
at least 30 times. I have tried to install the drivers
from my original CD and I have tried using the newest
downloaded drivers. Every time, without exception, the
printer works fine after the installation of the driver
software, then fails after the restart.
