Windows 98-ME Upgrade
I want to move my existing (Windows 98, AT) system to another computer. I
want the power management facilities provided on the new (ATX) machine to work properly as well as the existing software, for which I have no installation media, to remain available. Can I: Clone the old drive onto the new in the old machine, Put the cloned drive into the new machine, Boot to the startup floppy with CD-ROM support, Put in the Windows ME CD and run setup /p j and install into the same folder (C:\Windows), and have it work as I want? Are there any preliminary steps to ensure a good outcome? I hope this makes sense, ern. |
