Default Start Menu

My previous post on August 26, 2004, was as follows:

. Reply (E-mail) Forward (E-mail)

Subject: Startup Menu
From: "tJp" Sent:

Today, I noticed that "My Documents" is missing from the
Start menu. Apparently, I deleted it by inadvertence or
stupidy. How do I get "My Documents" back? I can get a
copy to the start menu below "Windows Update," but not
where it belongs.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I need to clarify that I am talking about the Documents
file in the Start menu, and not the Startup in the
Programs menu. I am asking about how to get Documents back
in Start ( I believe right below Programs in the menu).

Thanks to those that responded and any further help will
be appreciated!

Thats actually the Recent Documents folder.

It can be restored via the Registry but, I can't think of the steps to do so
atm. Hopefully someone will come along and post them for you ;o) (PCR, where
are you!! g)

You can try TweakUI to put it back.
Tweak UI 1.33 for Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows Millennium
Edition, Windows 98 or Windows 95.
Details at: (may wrap)
http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstati.../NTTweakUI.asp
or
http://support.microsoft.com/support.../Q237/9/20.ASP
Download at:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...US/Tweakui.exe

or you can change the restriction in the Registry.
It should be under the key

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer]
Remove "NoRecentDocsMenu" or change the value to 1.
