Default microsoft word and excel viewer

i am using win98 se in order for me to view files with .doc and .xls which
software should i download please guide me for the website. thank you.

None of the viewers currently available at Office downloads are compatible with
Win9x, AFAIK.

I have in the past found the 9x-compatible Word Viewer 97 he

I can view them both (in W2K) with the old retail program Quick View Plus.
Quick View (Quikview.exe), which is loaded on 98SE and W2K, was made by the
same company and might be worth a try. (It's also on this computer but won't
open for me - perhaps it is suppressed by Quick Vuew Plus).
