Default Risks of using old System Restore points?

While helping me out on the 10th, Noel noted that it can
be a bit dangerous to select an SR point thirty days
earlier.

Question...why is that? In this case, I chose it because I
was unsure when the problems arose and I wanted to be
quite sure I was getting far enough away to correct things.

TIA!

Why? Do you know every change you made to your system in that thirty day
period that has been undone and that now needs to be repaired? Another
problem of rolling back so far is that the amount of data to be archived
during the rollback could have exceeded the space allocated to the restore
archive meaning that if you had had problems you would not have been unable to
undo or rollback the restore.

No problem although you did have me confused for a moment as I hadn't seen the
change in the subject line. :-)
