Default Jerky Mouse During Internet Traffic

I use a cable modem with Win98SE on a 700MHz Pent 3. Recently, my mouse
cursor started jerking around the screen when I'm downloading something.
This makes it really hard to do anything else while using the internet. I
first noticed it with Download Accelerator, a download manager tool. Now I
see it with MS IE6 whenever its opening a webpage with a fair amount of
data.

Anybody have any ideas on what this could be? Thanks in advance.

You don't need a download accelerator if you have a cable modem.
Uninstall it and see if it helps.
You may have some Spyware on your PC.
Download,install,update and then run:

AdAware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Spybot Search & Destroy
http://security.kolla.de/

Spyware Blaster
http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html

They are all free.
