On SHUTDOWN , machine will do a warm reboot instead

Hello.
When I click on START/ SHUTDOWN /SHUTDOWN the machine will do a
warm reboot + not shutdown with " soft off " as usual.

Just started doing it recently.
Recent changes were adding AVG 7. + SPYBOT S+D .

Any ideas welcome ... please reply to NG.

Mine did that until I went into Device Manager and told my SB PCI128 sound
card (Properties) to not "Allow share interrupt" (or whatever actual text
is). Little hint I found as a one liner on some web page somewhere.

Click StartRun, type MSCONFIG and click OK.
On the General tab, click the Advanced button.
Click to put a check mark in the box for "Disable fast shutdown", and click OK.
Click OK to close Msconfig, and restart the computer.
