Default Automatic display of files following start up.

I have just reformatted my HDD and reloaded all my applications, including
NORTON ANTI VIRUS 2003 PROFESSIONAL EDITION.

I run W98se and on start up now the Norton Anti Virus program folder (with
the directory containing all its files) is displayed after My Desktop has
finished loading.

Then immediately after, the Program folder containing the directory of all
the loaded applications is displayed.

How can I eliminate the display of these folders on start up?

Are you talking about shortcuts, or actual folders on the desktop?
