Thanks,
What's the best way to get Netscape, download off net, or
get CD, or what?

They charge 2 or 3 dollars postage for the CD, but once you have it,
you can take it to other people easily.

OTOH, downloading is not a problem. I got the version 7 CD, but 7.1 I
dl'ed. I use Getright, so that if a download is interrupted, I can
restart where I left off. It has a lot of other good features too.
But in the old days, I used to leave the computer on all night while I
went to sleep, in order to dl something long. One time I had to try 3
nights in a row to get to the end without interruption. Then my
computer was slower (not just the dl speed) and if I browsed, I might
interrupt the dl. Now I can keep reading my email and browsing with
very little risk of that. And if it happens, Getright means it
doesn't actually cost me anything.

That sounds reasonable. So, all I need is Netscape to

get
the tabbed brousing?

Yes. I think version 7.1 is the current version. Version

7.0 works
but was missing one important feature related to this.

I heard other browsers listed for this on a computer

show, but the
same guy didn't mention Netscape! Just browsers I had

never heard of
(except I had heard of Opera.) His description of

tabbbed browsing
was just what Netscape has (although I don't think they

give it a
name.) so it seems wierd that he didn't list Netscape.

Try it. You're not locked in. Although sometimes I think

using IE
makes it more like IE will crash and that IE can take

windows with it,
while other browsers can't. I don't know if this is

true, though.
