OE error vmm(12)
I'm trying to reinstall Windows ME on a Dell comp., I keep getting the error
file at vmm(12) 00004dc1: oe: 0028: c0283dc1 Entering this error code as a 'search" returns nothing. I've run scandisk on this drive and it seems OK. Even formatted a second drive with the same results. It locks up at the same place (when configuring files). Please help! been at this for a week and my nerves are Frazzled. |

OE error vmm(12)
Found my own problem! The OWNER of the computer I am working on (OILED) the
fan over the processor. The oil penetrated the heatsink, causing the processor to heat up. Replaced the fan and everythings OK now. OE error vmm(12)
That's the trouble with ingenious idiots - they find more ways to screw
things up than an honest technician can imagine to troubleshoot. :-) That's a very interesting outcome and thanks for sharing it with us. -- Richard G.
