HELP! I need to replace NOTEPAD.exe
Hi,
A couple of days ago, I contracted a nasty CWS variant hijacker, which also changed/hijacked my notepad.exe and corrupted it, so that anytime I would try to open notepad, it would attempt to connect with a website(my firewall would warn me). After I got rid of the trojan with CWShredder....I no longer had a copy of notepad.exe on my ME computer, and no way of reinstalling it. Any ideas? Thanks!

RICK, you are a scholar and a gentleman! THANK YOU MUCHO! Notepad.exe can be Extracted from CAB #17. Open Start/Run/msconfig.exe/ExtractFile(button) Browse to C:\Windows\Install\CABS or C:\Windows\Options\CABS (whichever you have) and Extract Notepad.exe from Win_17.CAB to C:\Windows... I doubt CWS changes the file in the CAB but just in case, check to make sure that the Size of Notepad.exe is 52KB Rick .
