Here is a "dumb" question for you, Heather:
How come your post is dated 2/4/2006 on my pc?
Much 'befuddled',

Harry.

Hey Noel......even the Toronto TV Station was telling people to change

I just backed up last night before midnight. Apparently, this email
borne virus didn't do so well and not many got it. People are more
careful about opening attachments nowadays, once burned, twice learned
and all that jazz.

Heather:
It doesn't surprise me that they are not telling us here in the US.
The 3rd of each month is payday for social security recipients and
someone(s) is trying to mess with it to the extent that it will eventually
be immobilized. A certain segment of our citizenry is aiming towards that
goal and they keep gnawing, like worms in a tree. Hopefully this trend will
be recognized before being too late.
It escapes my understanding, why people would want to spend billions, if not
trillions, on wars with other countries for their so-called 'improved' (say:
"democratised") society and neglecting their own people. IMO greed is the
motivation.
I am glad you were able to ward off the threat in this fashion.
We are still 'stuck with the details'.
May you have a long life.

Harry.

Hey, Silj.

As previously noted I can't get the updates when the rest of you can, using
the built-in updater. Nor from
http://www.spybotupdates.com/updates...d_includes.exe, which just
pulls down that of the 27th again.

But using the three links in the Online.ini mirror.disabled section,
http://85.31.186.49/updates/files/spybotsd_includes.exe typed into the
address bar doesn't appear to work,
http://spybot.securitywonks.net/upda...d_includes.exe pulls down the
old file, but http://spybot.eon.net.au/updates/fil...d_includes.exe
does pull down the 3rd Feb update.

As for Lavasoft's defs.zip, again the updater claims no new updates, and
http://updates.ls-servers.com/public/defs.zip pulls down the old file.
However, http://download.lavasoft.de.edgesuit...ublic/defs.zip does grab
today's update.

Not too much "off-topic" at all, Heather. I've seen a lot worse.
And He's not only going to, he already is doing exactly that and with plenty
of "mean" help too (thinking of the prescription drug plan). Thankfully
his(?) "idea" of privatizing sococial security has been put on hold, at
least for the time being.
Ther is a lot more to be said on this subject, but that may be
"off-topic', as you've said.
You are quite right with your assessment of "the worm" with respect to its
recipients; it usually is incorporated into porn sites, which one 'has' to
click on, to activate 'it'.
With that we don't have any problems, or do we?
For "cleaner hex",

Harry.

I didn't realize that the 3rd meant anything in particular. That would
have been a big mess if the social security cheques got messed up.

Oh well....guess this is off-topic, but glad to see you are not one of
the *blind* Americans. Just watch your health care.....Bush is going to
screw you good on that too. Has to pay for that damned war somehow!!!

Cheers...Heather

Could it be that you live too far out in the country and lavasoft can't
reach you there? vbg.
Glad you could finally get it and only with the help of your ingenuity.
Don't know whether I'ld have been able to.
Cheers...
Harry.

lol! Very likely, Harry! Or, it may be a similar effect to when someone
stands on your hosepipe and the water stops coming through - maybe Lavasoft
are just waiting for me to look down the nozzle?...I don't know...does that
sound credible???

Shane
