USB upgrade from 1.0 to 1.1
I'm running windows 98 first edition I need to upgrade my
USB from 1.0 to 1.1 driver. The Philips software for the Pronto NG requires at least USB 1.1 to function. I know windows 98 second edition and up is required for a full USB 1.1 compatibility. They say there is a upgrade for windows 98 first edition that updates the "hidclass.sys file. can anyone help me find the upgrade... |

If your USB ports are direct motherboard ports you need to see if the Mobo manufacturers have updated drivers/BIOS for you to download. If it's a PCi USB card then the same applies, but in either case there's no guarantee. Why not install a USB2.0 PCi card (cheap) and get the best from USB without going on a wild driver hunt? |

USB upgrade from 1.0 to 1.1
OP's Win98FE does not support USB2, no matter how many updates or patches
are added. Requires Win98SE, minimum. -- Gary S. Terhune MS MVP for Win9x wrote in message ... Why not install a USB2.0 PCi card (cheap) and get the best from USB without going on a wild driver hunt? |
