You cannot legally download Win Me or any other Microsoft operating
system. Instead copies need to be bought. What exactly are the problems
with your recovery CD - you don't mention this.

Mike,

Could well be, Let's hope the OP returns and tells us the problems he's
having. I suspect you're pretty near the mark. :-)

You are responding to a very old thread. What problems are you having
when booting your PC? Please include details of any error messages you
are seeing.

I HAVE A NEW PROBLEM, GUYS.

Can anyone help me? At least two of the cab files on my ME cd are no longer
readable (I loaned the cd to someone and is came back all scratched!). I
need to find out if it is possible to download just those two cabs so I can
finish the re-install on my computer. It's dead in the water at this point!

None of the Win Me cab files are legally available for download.

If yours was a Microsoft rather than an OEM CD and you registered with
Microsoft when you first installed Win Me the following may be of help. KB
326246 - "How to Replace Lost, Broken, or Missing Microsoft Software or
hardware" (http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=326246).

Alternatively try eBay.
