Getting error " Error: OE : 0028 : FF03B779 " when installing Win

I just bought an Acer Asphire 3500 laptop and tried installing ME after
formatting the hard drive and I get the following error message:

Error: OE : 0028 : FF03B779

This error ocurrs afterME searches for hardware and plug and play devices.
The laptop is bare, and no other peripherals are attached to the laptop. What
does this mean and what could be causing this.

Wow it takes 3 days for MS support to answer this question. I guess they
don't care about the users with the old operating systems as they are too
busy trying to make money off the new ones. Another good reason to switch to
Linux.

Maybe they're busy... oh wait, you think this is M$ Support ? Nope,
this is a user group and the people who answer questions on their own
time don't have software geared towards keeping track of which posts
have been answered; sometimes you have to ask a few times; feel free to

your 0028 error is most likely video or network related; try
uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers.

No Microsoft support here, if you want that you need to pick up your phone
and get out your credit card. These are peer to peer newsgroups where
users help each other. There can be many reasons why no-one has answered
your post. So let's kick off with a question, what operating system was
installed when you bought the laptop. If not Win Me then it is quite
possible that your hardware isn't suitable for use with Win Me. The error
you are seeing is most likely a driver error of some sort, quite possibly
video. At what stage during the installation do you see this error? If
after the installation is complete can you boot to Safe Mode?
