I don't believe he will come back. He seems a bit
sensitive to criticism. Noel's written response made
perfect sense to Noel, and to us who know him through this
board, but Mr. Need Help didn't 'hear' the tongue-in-cheek
way Noel made his point. He was not angry, from my
reading, but surprised--and he wanted Mr. NH to know that
what Noel said was uimportant/u.

Or am I reading too much into this?

....A bit of both actually, Bob.
I do get upset when people ignore advice without good reason - especially
when the advice is proven to work in similar situations (and more especially
when a little searching in these groups would have shown that it worked!)

So I tried to make a forceful rejoinder - and it seems that I punctured a
rather fragile ego...

Such is life.

I had rather selfish reasons for posting that; I didn't want the
annoyance I felt to creep into my response to somebody else.

For whatever reason, people sometimes don't read/heed advice. There's
only a certain amount you can pander to them.
