ROFL!! You guys are nuts!! Got all the stuff and unfortunately can't
send you a jar of them. Poor Elayne can't even take them on the
plane.....over 100 mls or whatever that metric thing is. (hate
metric....my recipe is in Imperial)

Kissies from Pickle Lilly.......

D**n - you beat me to Lilly's "Circus" link, HL. I was going to use that one
later g

But maybe the real problem with Elayne's 100ml jam jars is simply that they
have big tops.

Mart,

Mike's 'groan' barely scratches the surface. I have a couple of photographs
of Piccadilly Circus that made me wince when I thought of your quip. I shall
never be able to look at them in quite the same way again!

Now, if you'd been taking the name of the Mudchester Piccadilly in vain,
that would be a different matter. But please don't misunderstand me, to call
it 'awful' would be high praise indeed!

Since you are using Outlook Express and are posting direct to the
Microsoft news server the problem has to be at your end. Is it possible
that you might have accidentally set OE to block your posts - Tools |
Message Rules | Blocked Senders List? If so you will need to delete the
entry and reset the NGs. Alternatively have you perhaps set up a message
rule and instead of perhaps highlighting or colouring your posts it is
deleting them (Tools | Message Rules | News).

I don't think that changing server as suggested by Alias will do anything
to solve the problem unless you have a message rule causing the problem
and that it uses the news server as part of the rule. If this is the case
then it is probably simpler to correct the rule.

You may have set up no rules but I have to ask, did you check, especially
for an entry in blocked sender?

hi again mike,, (hopefully,, i still cant see a single one of my posts)

i use 'msnews.microsoft.com' to access you guys at 'me',, as set up in my accounts.

just now (in last 5mins since i posted to you) i went and placed a post to:::

1)news.mozilla.org
2)news.microsoft.com
3)any ol' group on my own isps server

then after a refresh, every single post showed up.... all within a minute.

i just dont understand why i cant see my posts on 'msnews.microsoft.com'... ie, the server used to
get to you guys.
i think the rest of the bunch here have other things on their minds (pickles) so i am hoping you may
have another answer mike.

news.microsoft.com is the same server as msnews.microsoft.com

I would therefore simply switch to using news.microsoft.com rather than
msnews.microsoft.com. Same newsgroups, same posts, even yours! g

I'm sorry but I feel that you _have_ to have a rule somewhere that is
hiding your posts when posted to msnews.microsoft.com, especially so since
you say your posts to news.microsoft.com are showing. I previously
mentioned the possibility of your having blocked yourself (blocked
sender), or a newsgroup message rule, however there is also the
possibility of your having a customised view that is hiding your messages
but that's more unlikely since most users use the same view regardless of
the server they are using.

no mike,,,,, still none of your above.

but,,, something a tad odder has happened;;; when i said earlier that i test posted to
'news.microsoft.com', and my post appeared instantly, it was true,,,, but since then, i have
realised that other posts to same server/diff groups, have also not shown up.

as to whether 'msnews. blah blah' and 'news. blah blah' are the same,, well, i will take your
word for that;; but still cant figure out why something like would or could or is happening.
if both addresses are the same, then why can i see on one, yet not another..../? hmmmm

Why question what I posted when it is so very simple to prove this for
yourself? Use PING, TRACERT or other favourite tool and you will find
that both msnews.microsoft.com and news.microsoft.com resolve to the same
IP address. Currently both resolve here to 207.46.248.16 but this can
vary as MS used to use two if not 3 IPs for their news server but that may
have now changed.

Please Note:
This message was sent using the address news.microsoft.com for the
Microsoft news server.

Because, in some way or other your PC is screwed. I've made various
suggestions as to what may be causing this.
