Default AOL is taking over my computer!

It sounds like "mspaint.exe" and "wordpad.exe" have been removed from
"C:\Program Files\Accessories", so you probably need to extract fresh
copies of these files from your Windows 98 CD to that folder. To restore
the shortcuts, start Notepad, copy and paste the following text to it and
save it as "c:\windows\setup.ini". Then click "Start", "Run", type
"grpconv -o" into the "Open" box and click "OK". Also, to restore
the volume control, go to "Control Panel", "Multimedia", check the box
marked "Show volume control..." and click "OK".

[progman.groups]
shortcuts=Accessories
[shortcuts]
"Wordpad","""C:\Program Files\Accessories\wordpad.exe"""
"Paint","""C:\Program Files\Accessories\mspaint.exe"""
[end]

I have Windows 98, and something is terribly, terribly wrong.

There is an icon for free AOL setup on my desktop, and I have no idea where
it came from.
I tried to open WordPad the other day, and instead of launching WordPad my
computer opened an installer for AOL!
Then, when I went to the Start Menu, I saw that the WordPad icon has been
replaced with an AOL icon. When I go to actual WordPad files (which still
look the same) and try to open them, a dialog box pops up that says "Program
Not Found."

It appears that this AOL installer has completely replaced WordPad!

Now, today, I went on the Start Menu again and noticed the same thing has
happened to Paint -- the AOL Setup program has replaced it, too!

What is going on? I suspect a virus or something. Recently, I cleaned up
unused files on my computer (which got rid of Volume Control, argh) but
WordPad and Paint were still there after that...

Please help me! I never liked AOL to begin with...
