Default Tablet machines and W9X?

And remember the different protocols available, and needing to know
which one was best to use for different cases? Like XMODEM, YMODEM,or
ZMODEM, or whatever?

Even I know a bit about those. They definitely still have uses, especially
for various machines with serial ports. On a lot of older or smaller stuff,
that can be a way to get binary files around. Xmodem will do those, Ymodem I
don't know about. Zmodem is nice, it can negotiate file selection from one
end, the other just has to be sitting waiting for signals. I think they may
also reduce some restrictions on flow control method choices, but I'm not
sure of that.
