Networking 98 printer problem
Networking Laptop(XP) to Desktop(98SE) with Epson Stylus 880 Printer via a
crossover connection. Network working OK but still a problem with the 98SE connecting to the network printer. Laptop connects OK to the printer Using the add printer to network Desktop to the printer I reach the stage when I am asked for the printer name and it gives a wrong name which I correct. I then get a message that another printer has already got this name. (It should have as that is the printer I am trying to connect to) So I have to modify the name I then get a message" The printer could not be installed. Quit all programmes and try again. If the problem persists contact the system Administrator" Something is preventing me from networking this desktop to the printer. Any ideas? Blair Malcolm |
