Default 98 Protocols with Windows 2003 Server

I have Windows 98 clients on my network communicating in an NT environment.
I am planning on upgrading from NT server to either 2000 Server or 2003
Server. Which of these would you recommend? I am not sure how compatible
the Win 98 platform is with Win Server 2003? I am using the NetBEUI protocol
also. Is that compatible with Win 2003 Server? Please advise.
