Start-up will not recognise CD
I have a friend who has a very old PC - totally infested with bugs.
In the spirit of a good neighbour I have tried to help him, & finally in desperation used the Fdisk & format programs to start anew. However the setup in Fdisk to load windows 98 fails because the start-up disk will not find a driver for the CD (startup identifies it as a Mat****a cr-574) I have no original software for the PC. Right now we are totally stuck with a formatted HD, & no way to load windows --- could you please help? -- Stan |

You can make a floppy boot disk with generic drivers--see the instructions
he For information on installing W98, go to: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour/html/w98_restore.html -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "Stan" wrote in message ...
