Default How to restore "Volume control" dialog box back to Win98SE

Hi there..

Have this problem on my friend's PC.. (as mentioned in the subject)

In short the thing is "simply gone"!! when l try to access from the
"start"..."accessories""entertainment"..

Is there anyway l can "restore" this function without reformat the the whole
PC (which l find it too drastic)??

- Some of my friends told me to go to "add Program" under "Control panel"
using the O/S disk to re-install the function, pretty sketchy and help to
enlight??

thanks
BT

you have no sound card installed (at least the drivers)

go to control panel system device manager and see if there is anything
relating to sound and if it has errors

You have the wrong friends . . .
This function is usually enabled via / Control Panel / Multimedia
