Default Recovery CD not working

I am using the HP Application Recovery Software to re-
install the computer software due to attempting an upgrade
of McAfee AntiVirus Software and Zone Alarm. The Recovery
software appears to work and then just hangs.
Suggestions??

Why are you using the recovery CD in the first place--specific details
please? Does the computer boot? Will it boot in safe mode? What do you
mean the CD appears to work--what exactly does it do? We are trying to help
you long distance and merely saying something doesn't work doesn't give us
anything to work with.

Default Recovery CD not working

PC will finally boot and go into windows, prior it had
several problems with using all memory 398 Meg and lock
up. I had to hit Crt-Alt-Del and remove several items to
get it back running , then went in again and removed
McAfee files and directorys, removed Zone Alarm files and
directories, removed AVG Files and directories.
