Default A networking problem... direct cable connection internet sharing in a LAN

Hello,

I have a lan made by a router and a computer connected to it. I also
would like to have another old laptop surf the net. I can only connect
it to the computer thru serial cable. Is it possible from that to surf
the net?

Anyone can help me?

Thanks a million,
Fabio

My network:

192.168.1.1 (router) 192.168.1.2/192.168.100.1 (xp) 192.168.100.2
(win98 via direct cable connection)

Can I use the xp box to route the ip/packets from the win98 pc in order
to let it surf the net?

It was a serial direct cable connection

I finally succeeded! I created a direct serial cable VPN connection.
Thanks to it I cold be on the same network as the pc and the router and
could access it to browse the web
