Default Operating System not found...

I have win98 loaded on my pc but when I try to bootup my
computer I get two options... F1 - Resume or F2 Setup...if
I choose F1 I get a message stating Operating system not
found, if I press F2 I get sent to the BIOS Setup. What
can I do to load windows or what are my options to this
point. All responses will be helpful.
Thx,
JL

First make sure there is not a floppy in the floppy drive.
Have a look at this thread for some options:
http://snipurl.com/80g7

Boot the computer with a Windows 98 Startup Disk, which will bring you to an A:\
prompt.
Type the following, and press Enter after each line:
C:
dir /p /a

Do you get a reading of the files on C:?

The F1 or F2 choice indicates that the BIOS information is corrupted. This
includes the hard disk details, so it's not surprising that the system can't
boot. You need to access BIOS setup and tell it to re-detect the hard disk
drives. The likely reason for the BIOS error is a flat motherboard
battery - either replace the battery or leave the machine running.
