Maybe to keep right-click context menu items away from children, could
save a disaster or two.

Well, - as useless as it may seem - yes there IS a way, although it *may*
depend
on your mouse's software utility.

In Control Panel | Mouse, you *may* have a 'Buttons' tab which *may* give
you the option to select 'Unassigned' for your right-button (or any other
button or wheel, for that matter)

Just be sure to make a note of each button's current function BEFORE you
change it - you *might* want to revert back!! You could always use Sytem
Restore to bring it back g

To protect ourselves from workers. I have 20 machines that have a single
program to run. I have them configured to basically just run this one
application. They have no need for the right mouse click, so I don't want
them messing with anything. I was hoping that there was a registry setting.
I already have a .vbs that modifies the registry to put the machine in lock
down mode and to unlock it, so it would the best thing is if there was a
registry setting.

Thank you,
Matthew

We were using Logitech mice that allowed this ability when you installed the
driver. We recently purchased some optical mouse and it doesn't come with a
driver that gives you this ability.

Thank you,
Matthew

Mmm... Yes, I have a Packard Bell (Logitech) USB cable mouse which allows it
and a Medion USB optical mouse which doesn't.

My 'guess' is that is a function of the mouse manufacturer's driver
software. So, if you can spend some time yourself, poking about the registry
with the Logitech driver/mouse, you *may* be able to find the relevant key
(switch it on & off and look for the change) for yourself and 'try' to
translate the 'switch' to the optical mouse driver registry entry. But I
suppose it is unlikely that the two keys would be the same.

Maybe a call to you optical mouse manufacturers Support Line? As you've got
20 of these rodents, then you might have a bit more clout than the rest of
us g

Some detective work on your part - Good luck
