I got to bed relatively early last night for the 2nd time in a few days and,
indeed, the 2nd time in weeks. I have bouts of insomnia, Joan, which I've usually attributed to the time of year, but maybe this one was a reaction to not smoking (haven't smoked in about 7 weeks now). I'm hoping to get back to civilised hours now. For one I'd hate to be in bed still and missing this ethereal autumn light. Thanks for noticing! Shane "Joan Archer" wrote in message ... The question I have to ask....

Glad to hear the non-smoking is going well, you obviously have more will
power than me g I agree about the weather, but then it usually does change for the better when the kids go back to school after the summer hols. g it's been gloriously hot and sunny here all day just hope it keeps up until we've had our holiday. I'm going to harass Noel again this year vbg Joan Shane wrote: I got to bed relatively early last night for the 2nd time in a few days and, indeed, the 2nd time in weeks. -----Original Message----- We have a PC w/Windows ME someone gave to us. More and more frequently now, when we boot up it always gets stuck after the Windows ME logo comes up at a blank screen with the cursor up in the upper lefthand corner and we have to power down and back up again (sometimes 2 or 3 times). Thx, M Either use your restore CD to take your machine back to day 1, or go out and spend $100.00 on XP and install that. I'm all of a sudden having problems on my machine with Me and I'm going to try the restore CD first. If that doesn't work, I've been told to throw the damned box out the window and get a new Dell, Compac, or anything besides emachines. Good luck |

If you are so easily upset by a problem as to feel the need to throw your
PC out of the window, what makes you think that buying a new PC and using the XP operating system is going to make any difference? -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP [2001-2004] Jim wrote: Either use your restore CD to take your machine back to day 1, or go out and spend $100.00 on XP and install that. Isn't a 'girl mouse' actually a shrew?

"Joan Archer" wrote in message ... Glad to hear the non-smoking is going well, you obviously have more will power than me g I'd have probably caved by now but for the nicotine gum. 'Cos, you know, you can quit for months and suddenly the craving'll hit you. In the past I'd have eventually bought a packet of cigs, but now I'll use a gum. It's the caving in in the past that taught me that you start again for want of a single cigarette. The rest of the pack inevitably follows and a few hundred more packs before you're ready to try again. It's probably why they don't sell cigs singly. I agree about the weather, but then it usually does change for the better when the kids go back to school after the summer hols. g it's been gloriously hot and sunny here all day just hope it keeps up until we've had our holiday.
