Unpacking Adobe Reader
This message comes up every time the system is powered on, and the process to
unpack Adobe is automatically started, although Adobe is already installed. (i.e. the full unpacking process has been allowed to take place on many occasuions) Any procedure available to remove this message when the system is turned on? Thanks -- Thanks BD |

(i.e. the full unpacking process has been allowed to take place on many occasuions) Any procedure available to remove this message when the system is turned on? Easy solutions 1. Write down the name of the EXE at work. 2. / start / run / MSCONFIG.EXE and search the / Startup panel for anythiing that looks like a call to this Adoobe EXE. Uncheck it. 3. / start / run / SYSEDIT.EXE and search all INI files for a similar file call. Make it non- functional by typing a semicolon ; at the left extremity of the text line. Less easy: / start / run / REGEDIT.EXE and look in the RunOnce settings for a key that calls the Adobe Exe. If found, remove it. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

See my Clean Boot article for procedures that should be followed for
installing and uninstalling software. Then uninstall AcroReader 7, or 6 or both. After assuring that it is all uninstalled, reinstall AcroReader 7.
