Default Windows automatic updates

Can anyone explain why I keep getting the same critical
updates sent through after I have already updated my
system? I have just checked my instalation history and
find some updates have been installed up to 6 or 7 times.

If you are being repeatedly offered the same update then it has not been
correctly installed regardless of what the installation history might say.
Which update are you referring to? Knowing this might help others identify the
problem and help you get the update to install correctly.
