Default ME Compatibility with LINKSYS LNE100TX PCI Adapter

I recently purchased a LINKSYS WRT54GS wireless router and
a LINKSYS LNE100TX PCI Adapter to use with my cable modem.

I have a Micron Pentium 300 PC

My computer recognizes the adapter--it's listed under
systems (as OK) and was picked up as a plug and play

Problem: My Linksys router is not talking to my PC -- I
can not access the internet with it and

I can not view adapter when looking at the IP Config table

Do I have a ME compatibility problem or network card--
all cables are connected properly and the card seated on
the MB.

Fred - you'd be better asking this question in the .networking group (where
I've copied this response) - experts are available there.

what are you trying to acomplish? the adapter is wired and router is
wireless... those the router also accepts rj-45 connections? if so, is the
adapter connected to the router via cable? give us more info on what you
want to do.

I have a Micron Pentium 300 PC

My computer recognizes the adapter--it's listed under

Problem: My Linksys router is not talking to my PC -- I

Make sure that you don't have a crossover cable between the computer and the
router. Don't use a homebuilt cable unless you have experience fabricating
CAT-5 patch cables, and the proper tools.

I can not view adapter when looking at the IP Config table

That is odd. Even if the adapter doesn't get a lease on an IP address, it
should show up there. Are you sure that there is a TCP/IP adapter for the
card? Look at the Network Properties; you should see a green PC icon
labeled, "Linksys LNE100TX PCI Adapter", or something similar. Below that
should be a "TCP/IP - Linksys LNE100TX PCI Adapter" with a 'y' cable icon.

You should actually have one TCP/IP icon for each hardware adapter icon for
hardware which will have a network connection. Other protocols are optional.

Do I have a ME compatibility problem or network card--
all cables are connected properly and the card seated on
the MB.

Just make sure that you have a protocol linked to the card. If not, the
computer won't know that it is supposed to be connecting over the network.
