Can't Change Desktop "Screen Area" in Display Properties from 640 X 480 to higher setting

Hi,
UPDATE:

The download site provided by Aida32 was indirect to the site I actually
downloaded the latest driver (SP16985.EXE) for "Trident CyberBlade". The
driver description indicated that the OS is WinXP, etc. It didn't mention
Win98. I downloaded it anyway and "ran" it in a temp directory. This
"package" included a Windows 98 driver. I installed the Win98 driver.
Afterwards I tried but I couldn't increase the display area above 640 X 480.
Maybe a hardware defect is causing this problem?

CONCLUSION:

I have other Win98 desktop computers that don't have this issue
(stuck in 640 X 480), so I decided to use this Global PC for tasks that
don't require a high resolution display.

You don't need to dig in your box. Just use software like Aida16, Aida32,
Everest or Unknown Device Identifier.

Sometimes you have to completely uninstall the present video drivers and
then set it to Standard VGA before you reboot and install the latest
drivers.

Not a defect, but lack of chipset drivers, I think. Without them the system
cannot properly recognize installed hardware. Go to the device manager and
check how many yellow "!" you can see there.

BTW. Can you fix your newsreader, please? It does not add references to the
message header and your posts are not properly threaded.

As "Andrzej P. Wozniak" stated in his reply, you may need to install the
motherboard drivers first, if you can find them, and then install the video
drivers.
