Maximum amount of RAM
Generally considered to be 2 GB, though in fact, 1 to 1.5 GB is the =
reality, depending on the machine. Please see = http://aumha.org/win4/a/memmgmt.htm for a decent discussion and for = certain tweaks that you *must* apply in many circumstances involving = large amounts of RAM. --=20 Gary S. : Is there a maximum amount of RAM that Windows 98 SE can use? Thanks, Allan Yes. It can handle 512 MB without problems. With some tweaks you can use until 1 GB. http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;q253912 Microsoft states that more than 1 GB can cause problems, http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;311871 but I've heard of people using 1.5 GB without problems. I've never seen that with my own eyes. |
