Default pics in e-mails not there

Help! I was wondering why I sometime get e-mails with pics
in them and nothing is there but an empty box and a red X.
Also when I forward an e-mail with pics the reciever
doesn't get anything but a blank box. What causes this and
how do you fix it? Any help would me appreciated.

What email programme are you using, and what version of that programme?

Computer dumb.

When you forward the email, the graphics may not be included if the graphic
is a 'remote' graphic. That may also be true if you are using the latest
version of OE which automatically blocks external graphics when you are
looking at an email and you see a redx.

Follow the instructions at the URL below which address redx problems.

Regarding your 'where are you' message, please remember that we are all
volunteers in here. I happen to work full time, have two teenage children
and a husband, have many responsibilities and look after many newsgroups, as
well as maintain a web site, and receive over 1,000 emails per day. In
short, sometimes you will have to wait a while to get a response, but that's
the nature of free support. Rest assured I will always do my best to get
back into various newsgroups as often as possible - if I forgo fresh air,
sunlight and sleep the delay will be shortened, but I'm sure you can
understand that I don't want to do that.

enough said, totally understand. I'm new to the site and
had no clue as to the volunteer part. I thought it was
just people chatting and helping each other. Thank you so
much for info and your time.
