Default Winsocket Error 10047

When I try to connect to the Internet by using AOL or my
cable modem, I cannot connect to the internet. After
calling both my computer manufacturer and cable company,
the problem still isn't resolved. I was told by the cable
company that I have a winsock error 10047 that was keeping
me from using the net. Can anyone help me with this
problem?

Simone,

The issue may be directly related to spy|ad|malware being installed on
the system without your knowledge. You could attempt to repair the
Winsock stack with LSP Fix, but if the above unwanted "guests" are
indeed on the system, they will damage it again .

The site that supplies LSP Fix is not currently reachable which may
indicate another Denial Of Service attack against it by the purveyors of
such crudware. http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
Therefore, please email me as I can not attach LSP Fix to this post for
you ... mowgreen AT mvps.org.
Please READ the Readme prior to using it. LSP FIx will fit on a floppy disk.

IF you get connectivity back suggest you immediately go here for help
with removing the crudware :

Yes, and it is described as LSPFIX, not ISPFIX.
