Windows ME startup problem. Please help.
My friend is having problem with starting up the windows
Me he has on his computer. Anytime he turns on his pc, it says that "Windows did not finish lading on the previous attempt" And ofcourse there is four different boot options to choose from: Normal, Logged, Safe Mode, Step by Step. He tried all of these options but he says his computer restarts, and the same thing shows up again. So, can anyone give me any ideas what might be causing the problem? I appreciate your help. |

That type of problem can be due to a umber of things.....
Such errors are often caused by problems with the RAM - download DocMemory from www.simmtester.com and create the boot disk. Use this to boot the PC, and run the test overnight to check the RAM thoroughly. See what it reports. It may also be overheating - due to faulty fans, venting, or PSU Check that out. It may be a faulty registry - try this Boot using an ME floppy - type the command SCANREG /FIX and reboot when complete - see if that helps.
