dvd player
I have a toshiba dvd-rom SD-M1202 installed on my
computer, but when I put in a dvd I only hear sound and do not see a picture. I've tried to play the dvd using different programs but have the same result.

Did the DVD player come with software to watch DVD movies? If not, then you
