Default Deskjet Still Not Working After Reload of Windows ME

I recently re-loaded Windows ME on my machine. My HP Deskjet 952C is
not working now.

I re-ran the software CD that came with the printer and it loaded
successfully. However, I get an error message stating that I’m
getting an "error writing to LPT1. Printer timeout occurred. Increase
time setting for printer." I go into settings and increase it, but
still nothing prints. Thank you all!

This sounds like you didn't follow the instructions for installing the
printer, and it has got loaded somehow as a Parallel port printer rather
than a USB printer.
Go to Printer Properties| Ports and set the printer to print to the HP USB
printer port (probably named something like USB001)
