I have gone into control panel, sounds, and scrolled down
to where you should see messenger. My messenger has no
sounds to it. I have tried downloading it again and even
tried Internet Explorer again hoping one of them would do
it. I still can't hear when someone signs on to messenger
or sends me a message. I would appreciate any help. Thank
you.

Thank you for your response. But all the boxes are

checked on messenger window for ALERTS, but there is
nothing on my computer for these alerts. Nothing! Can you
suggest something else. Maybe a Sledgehammer? Thanks.

Sorry, I thought that might have been it. I have went the sledgehammer
route and the results were not pretty G You might want to post to the
messenger newsgroup and ask there.
