I ran my adaware SE, and it came up with a lot of malware and Alexia. What
do I do withe tiese? What is Malware? Is Malware a problem? What is Alexia
and is Alexia a problem? Will I do any harm if I delete or quarentine items?
Thanks in advance,
Angel

Remove them.

Malware is basd software. It is a superset of software that includes; viruses, Trojans,
Browser hijackersm, browser helper objects, adware, spyware, keyloggers, yada, yada...

Alexa is a low level overblown software. It is on the bottom of what you should be
concerned with. However, it and all other malware should be removed if Ad-Aware SE flags
it.

This stuff is not good. "Yes" quarentine them with AdAware and then delete
them completely.
You will harm your machine eventually if you leave them on/in your system.

Alexa is used in Internet Explorer to "Show related links" on the Tools menu.
Provided you never use that function you will be quite safe. Presumably they log
what links interest you if you do use it.
ern.

malwa MALicious softWARE
Alexa: one type of malware
Update to IE & OE 6sp1 & install all the other security updates from Windows
Update, years worth, to bring your pc somewhat close to current
install either/both adaware and spybot and follow the instructions to remove
any (probably hundreds of) malicious items installed on your computer.
make sure you have a current antivirus installed, and make sure you use it
often.
Malware is like bubonic plague, not knowing much about it, wont stop it
killing you, or your pc.
