Maybe you're behind a firewall or proxy that's blocking it?

Well, it turned out to be ZoneAlarm ... sorta.
Clicking on "Shutdown ZoneAlarm" brings up a prompt asking
"Are you sure you want to quit?" The video will start working before
I answer the prompt. So, I just click "No" to keep ZoneAlarm open.
Whatever.

It just spins in a circle for me.

Works for me with 98SE and latest version of FireFox 2.

Win98SE / FF2 doesn't work for me either.

Which player version are you using?

Ver 2.0.0.20 . The video plays right in the webpage.

I have zonealarm, and it didn't ask for anything new.

I'm not using any other proxy. I'm using Verizon DSL.

I haven't checked my web security levels, but I hope to in the next
minute.

Well, I see you got it working, before you replied to me, so I won't
bother.

Since the problem happens for both IE and FF,
I believe the fix should be in ZoneAlarm but
I don't know what ZoneAlarm setting needs to be changed.

Hi,
As suggested by Tim, disable any third-party firewall or security suite
to see if that program is blocking the Flash content.

Try placing news.bbc.co.uk in Trusted Sites- Internet Options

| It just spins in a circle for me.

I get a message...

"A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you
want to abort the script?"

If I click "yes", it will just spin the circle. If I click "no", Kerio
Firewall puts up a message...!...

"'Internet Explorer' from your computer wants to connect to
96.17.106.12, port 1935"

Kerio asks for permission, but, before I can answer-- Flash crashes!
Here is the DrWatson report...!...

"Adobe Flash Player 9.0 r124 attempted to execute an invalid

I don't like a site that causes Kerio to ask permission! The ARIN WHOIS

It turns out that pretending to shutdown ZoneAlarm worked for
only a very brief period. It does not work consistently.
I don't understand it. Adobe Flash Player can be troublesome.
Youtube seems better.

There seems to be two things going on at...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7806756.stm

It causes firewall squawking, & it has a Flash Player script that is bad
enough to crash Flash. I think the site is poorly written or expects a
higher Flash Player version. But mine -- Adobe Flash Player 9.0 r124 --
I think is as high as I can go.

The squawking is related to...
http://www.akamai.com/
Just clicking that link causes Kerio to ask permission...!...

'Internet Explorer' from your computer wants to connect to 96.17.106.39,
port 1935

The site seems to work anyhow after denying it. I think it's probably a
legit site-- but I don't like it!
