Oh how so true when it comes to civil cases. What astonishes me is those
who seem to think that the jury system has its problems. In my view the
highly paid judiciary can come to just as bad a decision as any jury. I
can well remember many years ago a certain Chief Justice of England &
Wales hearing a civil action in which my family amongst others was
involved agreeing that we had made our case and then finding for the other
side making new case law in the process. We were unable to continue to
the final stage (appeal to the House of Lords) due to the huge financial
costs we had already incurred, the other party being our local council
with a bottomless pocket - the local ratepayers.
