Default Registry Cleaners - WINner Tweak Registry Cleaner XP

Does anybody have experience using WINner Tweak Registry Cleaner XP on a
Win98 system? I have v1.2.0, which I believe was the last truly freeware
version released. It works well on my WinXP system; although the name
implies it's for WinXP, it seemed for a while everything from Office to AMD
chips called themselves XP, so it might be useful on a Win98 system. If not,
does anybody have suggestions for a freeware registry scanner/cleaner
software?

Thanks in advance.

Dell,

There are several he

Clear.bat is not a registry cleaner but a Tmp file remover. If you
try it be sure to only use it only after booting to Windows.
Otherwise some tmp files needed on the next boot for installs and
system changes will be removed. Run it from a Windows shortcut right
after Windows has started.

I would not use registry cleaners if I were you. You should either ignore
the registry and let the experts deal with it or learn as I did all about the
registry in the course of book study and/or from Microsoft while trying to
recover XP SP 2 from a hacking of a system by an unknown and unwanted
intruder(s) and edit and manipulate it yourself after making a registry back
up of course. Have a nice day!
